在城市大學的英語查經會話班
City English Class (Something like: English Conversational Class in two nearby univeristies)
The Objectives:
- To assist University students in their academic attainments
- To adjust to Hong Kong life and beyond, our volunteers* lead English conversational class every week (2 hours for 10 weeks), in the two universities near our church in Kowloon Tong.
Discussion Topics: More general – educational, adjustment to HK society, etc.
Class Format:
Through practicing conversational English, issues relevant to students’ lives are discussed, e.g. family relationships between parent-child and siblings, vocational choice, dating relationship, friendship, societal problems, etc.
We share fun activities, such as Moon Festival, hiking, making Chinese dumpling, eating Cantonese “dimsum.”
The Teachers:
*Our volunteers come from different walks of life, e.g. professional English teacher, university professor, psychologist, nurse, dentist, businessman, IT professinoal, and university graduates”
